NSU's CommunityFest is an annual
festival that celebrates and connects NSU students, employees,
and their families in a carnival-like atmosphere around the
campus’s Gold Circle Lake.
The
event was initiated and developed in 2004 by Michelle Manley, an
NSU student who wanted to bring the university community
together and build school spirit.
NSU’s CommunityFest along with NSPIRE (NSU Students for
the Prevention, Intervention & Response to Emergencies) is
welcoming the pain community to take part in this year’s
festivities by sponsoring the Power Over Pain Walk. The Power
Over Pain Walk was developed by Renee Glick, an NSU graduate
student from the Center for Psychological Studies, in an effort
to raise funds and awareness for the pain community. Inspiration
for developing this event, stemmed from her own chronic pain
struggle.
Read Renee's story here.
Walkers will be making strides toward healing and be treated to
gourmet cuisine and deserts from local restaurants, rides,
entertainment, and all the festivities.
Reveal the invisible struggle of the pain community together
with every step!
